Upland, San Bernardino County
Upland sits at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, just west of Rancho Cucamonga. It began as North Ontario, part of the Chaffey brothers' model colony, and was incorporated as Upland in 1906.
Euclid Avenue, with its wide tree-lined median, runs north through the city toward the mountains. At Euclid and Foothill Boulevard stands the Madonna of the Trail, a monument to pioneer women dedicated in 1929.
